Our Hummingbirds
Hummingbird Home Care employs Personal Service Professionals, "hummingbirds", that are supervised by a Registered Nurse. All our caregivers are employed by Hummingbird Home Care and receive their pay directly from us.
You expect the best, and you deserve the best care available. Hummingbird Home Care ensures the quality of your service professional by carefully screening and selecting our applicants before they are hired. We then train our employees in the skills they require, and we regularly monitor their performance.
Our screening process includes character references, satisfactory work record, caregiver certification, criminal history record, driving record and good health. Employees must then comply with our agency's policies and our Agreement to Standards.
Staff competence is evaluated and monitored regularly. If additional skills are needed to meet our clients' needs, we provide specific training.
We protect our clients and also value our employees. We take care of your caregivers with health insurance, workers' compensation and professional liability insurances.
Hummingbird Home Care is approved and registered with the Maine Department of Health & Human Services, a member of the National Private Duty Association.
